Things To Know Before Your Child Attends Their First Class

Thank you for signing your child up for classes at Inclusion Dance.

Our classes increase confidence, coordination, memory, self-expression, social skills, school classroom performance, and help your child make friends. You have put your child on a path to success!

What to Bring

  • Water (or you can purchase water or Gatorade).
  • Appropriate attire

What to Wear

Inclusion Dance staff will enforce the dress code outlined below. However, we understand it might take a couple of weeks to get the appropriate attire for your student. Your attention to the dress code is valuable to your child’s dance experience.

Hair

If your child has longer hair, ensure it is free from their face and in a tight bun, braid, or ponytail for class.

Inclusion Dance provides dance and gymnastics shoes (please do not purchase them yourself, but if you already have some, feel free to wear them).

Attire

  •  Ballet: Tights, leotard, ballet shoes (If you don’t have these items yet, feel free to wear tight-fitting clothing that moves freely).
  •  Other Dance classes: A tight-fitting top, whether a tank top, T-shirt, or long-sleeved, is required. The stomach should remain covered when the dancer goes upside down, so leotards are strongly encouraged to prevent any issues. Tight-fitting bottoms, such as leggings, tights, or spandex shorts, should also be worn. Students may bring cover-ups to warm up in but are expected to remove them once they are sufficiently warm. Jazz dance shoes are required (one pair will be provided).
  •  Gymnastics & Acro: Wear tight-fitting clothing that moves freely. Leotards/Biketards are encouraged to be worn, as well as gymnastics shoes (one pair will be provided).
  •  Ninja Warrior: Loose-fitting, free-moving clothing and gym shoes not worn outside.
  •  NO JEANS, KHAKIS, LONG SKIRTS, OR JEWELRY. If you have any questions on where to get appropriate attire, please ask any staff member to help you.

Prices, Costumes, Shoes

We want to ensure that children are in the correct classes, so when your payment is put into your account during the first week, don’t worry about paying until after your child takes/tries their class(es). Please make the payment by the end of the first week. Please pay for all tuition online, by phone, or by mail. We also have a teal-colored drop box at each location.  If you wish to pay in person, please put your children’s names on an envelope, put the payment inside, and deposit it in the drop box. We ENCOURAGE everyone to make their payment automatically online. This can be set up in your online account.

All class prices are all-inclusive, meaning parents are NOT required to purchase costumes or shoes independently. Once payment is made for class tuition, your student will be fitted for the appropriate dance or gymnastics shoes, and the studio will order them. Dance, acro, and gymnastics students will get one pair of shoes per class for the year (Ninja classes, please bring YOUR gym shoes that are not worn outside). If you have shoes that fit from the previous season, wear those until they don’t fit, then order new ones. We will keep track of shoe distribution in your online account. Dance and Acro students will be fitted later in the year for costumes. These costumes are the property of Inclusion Dance but will be borrowed by the students and given back after the Spring recital. Ninja and Gymnastics students will receive a t-shirt for all recitals/showcases (the students can keep these t-shirts).

What to Expect to Pay

To see how much a class will cost, click here, find the appropriate class in the list. ALL PRICES ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE!! You will not have to pay any registration fees, recital fees, costume fees, shoe costs, recital t-shirt costs, and competition fees. ALL PRICES ARE INCLUDED IN THE MONTHLY TUITION COST!

Tuition

All tuition costs are based on the calendar month. If you join near the end of the month, you can pay per class until the start of the new month. We do not prorate tuition. If you decide to cancel your child’s participation (you leave the area, the child gets injured or sick, etc.), you must pay for your child’s current tuition up until the day you call to cancel. If you wish to text, message, or email to cancel, you MUST get a response from us to ensure we get the message before your membership is canceled. Your money will not be refunded when you cancel; you may get a credit on your account if appropriate. If you are leaving for a while, call us to suspend your membership while you are gone. Make sure to call BEFORE the start of the month. If you cancel your child’s participation before the end of the season, we would appreciate it if you would return any shoes, shirts, and costumes provided to them.

How to Make a Payment to Inclusion Dance

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. The charge shows up on your account on the 1st of that month and is due the same day. You can pay earlier than the 1st of each month, and it will show up as a credit until the charge is posted to your online account.

LATE FEES: Payments are due BY THE FIRST of every month. If you have yet to pay before the 7th of each month, we will add a late fee of $10.00.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD ON FILE. This is required. If a participant is not returning to classes, a guardian must let the owner, Marla Bradley, know they are not returning to classes BEFORE THE END OF A MONTH. Otherwise, tuition for the next month will be due. If tuition is NOT paid before the third week of any month, the amount will automatically be taken from the card on file (which will include a late fee).

There will not usually be an admin/receptionist available throughout the season to take payments, so we wanted to explain how to pay.

  1. The best and easiest option is to enroll in autopay. Put your credit card on file in your Inclusion Dance online account (using the SE Motion App) or call Marla to set you up in autopay.
  2. The next most straightforward option is to put your credit card on file and pay manually when you have the money to spend.
  3. You can also put your checking account on file and pay automatically or manually with your checking account.
  4. If you prefer to pay by check, you can send a payment in the mail to:
    Inclusion Dance
    913 Crystal Ave
    Crystal Falls, MI 49920
  5. There is also a blue-colored drop box at each location. You can fill out a check and put it in an envelope with the child(ren)’s name on the envelope and the class(es) they are in. The blue dropbox is next to the snacks.
  6. If you prefer to pay by cash, you can arrange a time to drop it off with Marla at her home office at 913 Crystal Ave in Crystal Falls by first calling 906-367-5404.
  7. Other payment options:

Snowday or Cold Day Policy

If Forest Park School is closed for weather-related issues, all Inclusion Dance classes for that day will be canceled.

We know some snow days will happen. If there is more than 1 snow day per semester (September-December and January-April), Inclusion Dance will find a way to make up the class time that has been missed. You will be informed about the make-up day/time. We will send an email and/or text when we cancel classes, and it will be posted on Facebook (so please like and follow our page).

Waiting Room

Please use the Guest Waiting Area for the students to complete their classes. Please wait in the Guest Waiting Area after you drop off your child and help them prepare for class. It distracts the students and the teachers if your student can see you during class. If a student is five or older, guardians can leave and come back when the class is complete.

Exceptions:

  • If your child is attending for the first time, feel free to watch.
  • If your child is under 5, stay nearby and only enter the practice area when needed. It is easier to teach the kids to be without their parents if they do not see them.
  • Other reasons: please ask a staff member if staying near your child during class is appropriate.
